Education is one of the essential benchmarks of how countries are developed and have a positive impact on society. As one of the critical factors of any developed countries is their workforce who are mainly the citizen of the country, it is vital that inhabitant educated enough to achieve a high rate of the economy. In my opinion, university education should be free to attain the above goal in Australia and politician should change the legislation in the parliament for free university education that assists Australians more productive in either small or large businesses.
Universities can be found and budget easily by the Australian government by easily cutting various subsidy paid by local and federal government. Refer to Parliament of Australia budget review 2018-19 Index “Social security and welfare expenditure in 2018–19 is estimated to total $176.0 billion, representing 36 per cent of the Australian Government’s total expenses.” This huge amount of money from taxpayers can be paid more reasonably to the Australians, which is instead of paying dozens of subsidy and support, i.e. Job Seeker Income support. These governmental pays make potential workforce to stay at their home and always looking for the government’s pocket to receive paycheque fortnightly, by slashing such as pay as mentioned earlier which will motivate them to increase their knowledge and in results earn better salary ammunition that helps them and their family. As Chinese Proverb quoted, “give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man to Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime.”
